Opinify App. Break through the walls of your echo chamber
Are you aware thatyour closest friends will always mirror your opinions? You know what you want, and you will get it. Your opinions are sorted by algorithms in your social media bubble. Wouldn’t it be better to leave this bubble? You won’t: you are stuck in the echoes of your social media chamber. We all are. It’s time to pop the bubble with the Opinify App.
The Opinify App is a social media platform that exposes you to ideas that exist outside of your friend circle, without leaving your favorite social media platform. The Opinify app is an experimental and interactive platform that tests and shapes your opinions in a time of global crisis. It is getting hot and crowded on this planet: we need myriads of opinions to help us navigate through this mess.
Global Change App
‘Rise in population, energy crisis, lack of food, endangered animals and deadly diseases in Africa. These are the most important issues currently facing our planet. What if you could share your opinion on these issues? What if you could influence our planet?’
The Global Change App is a concept for a social network, representing a radical solution for a better future. The project offers a new and discursive solution to build online democracy. The app aims to give its millions of global users a new and direct way to change the world: solutions to global problems are presented in the form of questions that users can only answer with “YES” or “NO”. The changes are then implemented according to the global vote. With this reductive attitude, making a global change will become easier than ever before.
Every week the Global Change app sends its users a YES-or-NO question about the most important issues facing our planet. The question proposes a possible change to solve a global problem. Global Change users are given the chance to educate themselves within relevant problems and then - Action! Choose “YES” or “NO”. The users decide how a change should be made. After voting, the votes are gathered and the change is executed - or not. Every change, however controversial, is made based on a instantly collected and global democratic vote. The changes are financed by the Global Change community. Each member contributes a monthly fee that goes directly into the change. The bigger the community, the more is changed! The Global Change App also offers its users a ‘win-win’ credit-system within the financial structure that will allow users to earn profit through investing in the App. ’Investing in change’ can actually earn you a profit - if your choices are the right ones. By representing a potentially huge economic incentive, global democracy makes even more sense. By making profit, democracy pays off!

Soil’s health is an important issue on a global scale. The soil sustains life and ensures our liveable conditions. 2015 has been declared the International Year of Soils by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Although it is a global issue, we need to act locally. The preservation of this precious resource is dependent on our understanding of its value on a personal level. Now the Earth`s soil is decaying rapidly. The cancer-like symptoms of the Earth are of the utmost importance to the public and are central to our survival.
The Earth Cancer is an ongoing action based art project, exploring the most important resource on the planet - our soil. The project consists of several sub-projects such as soil samples, an autonomous drone (Dropbot), a soil scanner and a soil archivist application (TECA).
Currently we are more interested in exploring other planets more than our own. We should investigate Earth before Mars. The project is exhibited in planetarium like environments, acting as an observatory of our own planet.
Scientists confirm that the health of our planet’s topsoil has dramatically decreased in the last 150 years (World Wildlife Fund, 2015). All the elements of the project are developed to investigate the hypothesis that the soil on the Earth is infected with a cancerous disease and is slowly perishing: hence the title Earth Cancer. We are proposing a hypothesis that the Earth Cancer infection is spreading, threatening to infect the whole world. Global transportation and communication is an obvious transmitter of sick soil. This project shows various evidences of Earth Cancer and informs about its devastating impacts.
